4th PIAfrica - Postponement of the conference in 2021: 18-19 March 2021

We have been monitoring the current situation in relation to the pandemic and the Government ‘s reactions across Africa and the rest of the world. By assessing the in-country guidelines, we have come to the conclusion that hosting the 4th Piafrica – Pension Funds and Alternative Investment Africa Conference in 2020 will be uncertain and the outcome of the live conference might not the desired one for all participants and sponsors. The only realistic option is to host the live event in March next year.

We have therefore, taken the decision to move the 4th Piafrica live conference dates to the 18 – 19 March 2021, to allow time for the spread of the virus to be contained, the reopening of the economies, and the strengthening of the confidence in traveling again.

This will also provide us with the opportunity to prepare a program that features regional and international speakers to attend and discuss the constraints, developments, and opportunities after this unprecedented time has passed.

We would like to assure you that we are putting in place all the necessary measures that will ensure the attendance of high-quality participants that have been associated with the conference over the past years. We believe that this postponement will enable us to reach out to more industry players and key stakeholders.

Over the next few months, we plan to move into discussions in the virtual space and to host online webinars, training, and events and provide you with industry related news, project updates, and information on products & services. Please keep an eye on our website to find out more about our new offerings. If you would like to get involved or you have subjects that you would like to share/present and you consider them relevant to the industry, please do get in touch with us.

We look forward to receiving your re-confirmation of participation for the 18 – 19 March 2021 and thank you for your understanding in this complex situation.

Piafrica 2020 - Postponement of the conference as preventive measure due to COVID-19

In the attempt to limit and contain the outbreaks of the corona virus and for the health and safety of all delegates, speakers and business partners, it has been taken the hard decision to postpone the 4th Pension Funds and Alternative Investment Africa Conference (PIafrica2020) initially scheduled for 19-20 March 2020, in Mauritius to a latest date, to be announced shortly. The global fight against the COVID-19 has entered a new phase and the Government of Mauritius has diffused a press release today, highlighting measures in place to limit any possible spread of the virus, including travel ban from travelers not only from China, South Korea, Italy but also Germany, France and possibly will be extended to other countries in the next few days.

As the containment of the disease has not reduced as hoped, after due consultations with key stakeholders and partners, we consider it very prudent to delay the event in order to prevent global and national health risks that could arise as a result of the epidemic. Moreover, we also took into consideration the fact that the PIAfrica has become a regional and international platform for key industry partners to discuss key issues and opportunities. The travel ban will affect the overall international participation and we must safeguard the lives of the expected participants at the conference. Our sincere apologies to all delegates, speakers and business partners who have been inconvenienced by this situation. The new dates will be announced shortly and we trust in your understanding.

We look forward to seeing you soon.
