A COMPREHENSIVE, FULL DAY MASTERCLASS TRAINING WORKSHOP ON PROJECT PREPARATION
Ahead of Africa PPP 2025, delegates participated in a full-day, hands-on masterclass designed to strengthen government capacity in preparing, structuring, and delivering bankable infrastructure projects. Tailored for ministries and public agencies across the continent, the workshop provided a practical deep dive into the end-to-end project preparation cycle, combining expert-led presentations, case studies, and interactive group discussions.
The training explored the fundamentals of developing investment-ready projects, from understanding institutional roles and regulatory frameworks to aligning with ESG and climate-smart priorities. Participants learned how to build and prioritise a robust pipeline of projects using appraisal techniques, economic evaluations, and risk assessments that ensure long-term value and commercial viability.
The masterclass also unpacked procurement and contracting essentials, including due diligence, technical specifications, tender processes, and the structuring of fair, transparent partnerships with the private sector. The final module focused on effective contract management, equipping attendees with tools for performance monitoring, stakeholder engagement, governance, and the use of digital solutions to support successful implementation.
By the end of the day, delegates walked away with a clearer understanding of what makes infrastructure projects bankable, sustainable, and implementation-ready, reinforcing Africa PPP’s mission to promote an enabling environment for viable, long-term PPP success across the continent.
