Ben Brimble is a project manager for Windlab Developments SA, part of the Australian head-quartered international wind energy developer, Windlab Ltd. The company has a portfolio of projects across the South Africa with 2 projects currently operational. Windlab exclusively owns and utilizes a suite of world-leading atmospheric modelling and wind energy prospecting tools to identify, develop and efficiently operate wind farm sites. This technological advantage has enabled Windlab to rapidly secure a portfolio of high quality wind farm sites totalling more than 7 500MW of potential capacity in markets across the world. Ben heads up projects in South Africa and Mozambique, with experience in other African markets, through the full development life-cycle of site selection, permitting, off-take and financing. Windlab recently reached Financial Close on a World first hybrid wind-solar- battery project, the 62 MW Kennedy Energy Park in Queensland, Australia. Construction is underway and operations will commence late 2018. This is a development that Windlab is looking to take into other markets in Africa and is something that Ben and Windlab are extremely excited about.
