Dr Aboyade is the resident regional energy and water infrastructure project advisor for USAID Southern Africa. He is seasoned development professional and program manager with more than 18 years of progressively responsible experience in the conceptualization and implementation of projects aimed at accelerating the financing and deployment of clean technologies and sustainable infrastructure in sub-Saharan Africa, particularly in the electricity, water and wastewater sectors.
In his current role, Dr Aboyade serves as USAID Southern Africa’s technical expert covering the SADC region, advising on the development and implementation of the Mission’s energy and water related plans. He is also involved in procuring and managing technical assistance and capacity building programmes on behalf of USAID and the US Government’s Power Africa Initiative. He has a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from the Federal University of Technology Akure, Nigeria, a Master’s degree in Environmental and Sustainability Science from Lund University, Sweden, and a PhD in Chemical Engineering from Stellenbosch University, South Africa.
